Why am I so empathetic…..I always feel too much when it comes to others, and I have repeatedly been told by my family to stop being soft-hearted….is it really so bad though? If everyone was softhearted, the world would be so nice. If everyone stopped and thought about people, and how they could possibly feel, we would all be less likely to hurt others. But then the pain comes. The pain in my gut when something bad happens to someone, regardless if I know them or not.

The pain of loosing someone, the pain of craving an unreachable- I feel it all, and it hurts. Why do I think about it so much? It’s not my pain, not my problem, and yet I still get choked up. My heart aches, and I want it to stop. What happens when these things happen to me? Will I be able to take it? So much emotions, so much pain, and for what? More pain? And yet, despite what I feel, or think, I know I can never stop feeling it, and I don’t want to. Because, deep down, I know I like it when I feel the pain, because it makes happiness that much more valuable.
